I am not sure if this is a right forum.
Is it possible to write URL address in the internet explorer’s address bar, include page search expression and jump (scroll) to it?

For example http://www.codeguru.com/?searchterms=forum:jump

Meaning I am searching forum on page codeguru.com and if found jump to and possibly select forum.
If forum is in the middle of the page explorer would scroll to it.

If not, would it be possible to invoke a search dialog, pass search term and tell dialog to find a word?

Are you talking about something that will work for every website you visit? If so, nothing like that exists in Internet Explorer.

Or, are you specifically referring to a CodeGuru forum search only? CodeGuru uses vBulletin as their forums software. vBulletin searching assigns an ID to the search. As far as I know, you cannot just enter search terms into the URL itself.
