Hi,

I'm new in crystal report, and now i need to do so reporting module based on it using vb .net 2003.

so i went to some tutorial websites and found that some suggested cread a xsd to describe the data need to be use on the report, while another suggest directly linking to the database to get the data structure need to be used on the report.

now my question is, what is the purpose of using xsd to describe the structure we want to use, while using database we can skip on this process?

Thanks and regards on any explanation given.

I haven't experience with it but I would use xsd if the data to display in the rpt will 'travel' by internet
