DSN login error

I use a dsn with my userid & password hardcoded for my local machine. I put the report in the developement server with the same dsn, and access it through a url.....it says database logon error. One thing I found is that when you go to set datasource location-click on the dsn and then properties - my userid is present in there.......any ideas......please help!

I'm not an ODBC expert, but this has alwasy worked for me. Design reports using a System DSN. Place report on a different machine that has the same System DSN which is configured the same as the System DSN in the development environment. This should work fine. Make sure you are not using a User DSN. Unless you are the User on the werver (normally not the case) you will have issues.

I tried to delete the file dsn and then create a new system dsn with the same name as the one on developement server and change the dsn by clicking on update and it's hanging...just freezing.......
