Need a new forum feature: UnBump

Hello,

Dear Moderators / Admins,

For certain threads it is common to use empty entries to bump them up again, so that they will be shown at the top of the board.

For other threads, especially those who start with "need help - very urgent!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!", I do need a feature I will call "UnBump".

It would be nice if you can implement such a feature. ;)

Next step could be the "auto unbump" feature: If a thread has a headline including "urgent" AND the thread contains at least one unanswered question (not answered by the OP of course) it will be "un-bumped" for - let's say - 20 lines.
A good indicator is a post only containing "Any suggestions?" too.

How can you "unbump" a thread? The list of threads is order by the date of the last post...

(The following post is somewhat "tongue-in-cheek", but not completely...and only reflects my personal opinion)

Actually, I would like to see a (secret) feature where any poster who "Bump
s" a thread at an interval less than 72 hours immediatly has the latest post "removed" (thereby setting the thread update timestamp back) and is barred from posting for 72 hours from the bump....

The biggest problem would be NOT impacting the posters who make sequential (unanswered) posts with additional useful information....

Maybe it can be solved:

The next forum implementation can implement the rules the TheCPUWizard suggested under the following conditions:

It has to be the OP (usually the person who requested help).
It checks whether the OP (his IP) has make at least one http request to any of the MSDN sites.
It checks whether in any of the posts of the OP is the keyword main (without "int" before: Banned forever :D ) AND this is not included in code tags.


Could that be helpful (Then rate me! :wave:)?
