I have seen several companies hiring foreigners (other countries' nationalities rather than mine) I have a degree. Why do they hire those with higher salary (4-7 times higher than a paycheck for an intermediate programmer)?
A Singaporean assistant can earn $2500/month and work at free time. He comes to work only in some hours / some days during a week.

I also have a degree from Singapore, why they pay me seriously seriously lower ?

One thing that MUST be considered is the relative cost of living. This applies even among different regions in the same country.

For example, in the USA a person in New York, Washington (DC), Los Angles, etc can command almost 25% more than a person living in most "central" locations [North Dakota, Idaho].

This does not not mean that the person with the higher salary will "live better".

Another situation to consider is the person who works in one geograpic area for a period of time while not intending to reside there for the long term.
