Hello,
i would like to learn a language like Java or C# for web-applications, but i have the problem to chose the right one. In future i want to develop platform independent web- and desktop-applications.
What language of the above do you recommend to me?

I think I have seen .net and C# implementations for about the same OS except i haven't seen a C# for any SUN products such as Solaris and so fourth.
I tend to think that Java probably has more different JVMs out there than C#, although C# is really catching up. There are actually Java chips designed specifically to optimize for java
.
Well I have seen alot of C# job postings. I have seen alot of Java job postings.
Are you taking a fork in the road?
Consider learning both.....

Sure this is the right way, but at first i want to learn one of these and i can't decide which one. So i need help in deciding in which language it is better to start with. What would you prefer? Or better say, which is the logical order of learning related to the above languages?
