JOB SUMMARY
Implements the test strategy and plan developed by the Test Lead, develops and executes test cases and scripts, reports test results, documents defects, and interfaces with project management, developers, other technical and functional support staff, and customers as necessary.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
§ Prepare and participate in walkthroughs of business requirements and technical specifications
§ Convert business requirements and specifications into test plans, cases, and scripts
§ Execute test cases, report progress and issues in a timely and accurate manner
§ Identify, record, and report defects
§ Conduct root cause analysis of identified defects, providing development/business partners with sufficient detail to understand, replicate and resolve the defect
§ Maintain traceability between test documentation and requirements § Participate in peer reviews as appropriate § Identify opportunities for continuous improvement
QUALIFICATIONS
Required: BS/BA in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, MIS, or equivalent experience and 2+ years of software testing experience to include the development and execution of test plans, cases, and scripts.
Working knowledge of Rational RequisitePro, TestManager, and 508 compliance testing tools.
Must possess knowledge of industry standards and practices, good attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and effective oral and written communication skills.
Desired: Experience leading a team, working in a CMMI environment, participation in testing/quality organizations.
