HI.

Guys I really want to know what every one thinks.

Because the old people like parents keep saying money don't make any one happy. I SAY how the hell!! If you own a big house, a nice fancy car, you can do what ever you want, eat what ever you like without thinking on the bill, Have the top line computer, Can have fun in any place, Have holiday in very nice place and you sleep well because you don't think how you will spent the rest of the month without money. etc... How this don't make me happy?!

Please guys tell me with the logic! If you think money don't make you happy! Tell me a logic reason, Not like my dad told me that when I was young.

When I was young, I thought money was not important as long as you have food and shelter. I refused the rat race. I even said to my boss, I don't want a high salary becase if you pay me a lot, you would have less money to hire other people. Later, I saw my boss keeping the money for himself instead of hiring more people. He even fired me very abruptly one day. I saw that I was still unmarried which is not the case for other men less honnest than me, but more rich. I read Ain rand's novel, Atlas Shrugged. She says that money is a reward. Poeple who buy your products, who pay you high wages, are thinking you are making good things, you are working well. Receiving money is an honor. Of course, if you steal it, that's a different story. I also think that happyness is not a good goal for your life. It is better to have friends and have a peaceful mind.

It doesn't matter how much money you have. You can be grumpy all the time, and being broke wouldn't change a thing.

The point is to be happy with whatever you have. If you don't have, don't worry about it. Someone ALWAYS has more.

how can i be happy with whatever i have when i actually don't have any.
if anyone doesn't think money makes him happy, please donate to my address, i will happily take all of them.

wait a sec, i think i have clothes on, that maybe something happy because wearing nothing in the street is a frightening thing to do.
I admire those in my country that always wear a white Tshirt a white pair of shoes and white long shorts running or walking around the streets everymorning, it's hot here. what are they thinking to put on such hideous clothes ?

You can be happy if you live within your means, and not get caught up in the "rat race", or try to "keep up with the Joneses (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Keeping_up_with_the_Joneses)".

If you look at this in a world perspective, there is only so much value in the world.
So when a few rich people hoard most of the money, subsequently it does impact the poor indirectly, or even directly sometimes.
If the overall value were to be somewhat equally shared, then more people, could have new opportunities.
Then the total value, may have a greater potential to increase, since more people will have more resources, to contribute back to society. :)

Happiness doesn't come only from money. A very rich person can still be miserable if his/her family isn't cohesive while a poor person can be happy if he/she is contented the current state. Ultimately, happiness is really to appreciate what one has and not comparing with others. The world is always unfair in the distribution of richness as there will always be someone richer than us. On the other hand, if someone has to worry about not having basic necessities, money will definitely reduce or even remove the pain.

Hi all.
The real question is if one can buy the happiness.
Well, basically it depend on what one needs to be happy; if you're happy when you live in a beautiful house, when you dress fine clothes, when you have an expensive car, when you spent your holidays in the most exclusive places... then money will be the right way to get happiness.
But if you're happy when you meet your friends, when you read a good book, when you stay with your girlfriend, when you can do exercises because you have good health... well you won't get all this using money.
You cannot buy a friend, you cannot buy a girlfriend or a wife (you can buy her body, no her heart) and above all you cannot buy health.
Are you happy if you have a big house but you're alone?
Are you happy if you have much money but you're ill also?

I think it will depend on how old or young are you (not just physically but mentally too :D). Okay I could buy those expensive cars just passed a minute ago, I could help those unfortunate ones, I could hang out with my friends all times without worrying with my budget and work. I think they are too many to mention that I would do hehe :D...

But as we all know, life will end soon when we are old enough and keeping those money to our pockets does not make sense anymore. So I would just give it to others who need it, in that way I am still happy :D

For some time the feel of having a nice house and car and etc makes you happy, but it's not necessary that you will stay happy forever (assuming you have money all the time).. actually you can't stay happy because of money or some other external factor, you have to be in peace with yourself, your expectations.. then you will never need to worry about staying happy or money or anything else. Apparently saying this is very easy (as I said it) but only few can take it seriously and do it. :)

Obviously money is needed to do what you need to, the question is, how much is really enough ¿
All the things money can buy, are only earthly things, you can't take them with when you pass on. I always say, I won't like to be rich. Because money doesn't buy manners, class, happiness.
I'm not saying that a Ferrari won't make me happy, but, I'm more than happy with my pickup truck that can barely move from point A to point B. The more money you get, the more you will want - how much is really enough, that should be the question.

Money makes the people happy who have the goods that I want/need...
