SUMMARY
The company is seeking a person to be a senior member of the software engineering group that develops applications to process magnetic and other sensor data in the evaluation of pipeline integrity. This person shall provide guidance and technical support to other team members as needed.
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
The design, development and testing of applications and libraries using MS Visual C++ and MFC.
Be pro-active in the establishment of solid engineering practices to provide efficient and maintainable code.
Write programmer and user documentation.
Develop on-line help files and integrate with applications.
Assist team members by providing technical guidance on programming issues and version control issues.
Review of code changes to insure compliance with coding standards and solid coding practices.
Assist the Software Engineering Manager in development of Requirement Specifications, Functional Specifications, project timelines, and associated documentation.
Work with the mechanical and electrical engineering groups and operations personnel in the development of requirements documents.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
A minimum of five years experience programming in C++ with at least three years using Visual C++ in the Windows environment.
Extensive knowledge in debugging procedures
In-depth knowledge of Microsoft Foundation Classes (MFC).
Experience developing multi-threaded applications and use of synchronization objects.
Experience developing graphical display of data using Device Contexts and GDI calls.
Experience with GDI+.
Experience with Microsoft Office Automation.
A college degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.
The person must have good communication skills in the English language, both written and verbal.
It would be advantageous to have good math skills and experience with some of the following
Microsoft Word
Microsoft Access
ADO/SQL/ODBC
RoboHelp
Windows Socket programming techniques
