Has anybody listened to the new metallica album called Death magnetic?
If so, what do you think?
It's not supposed to be out until September 12th, but there was a leak.
I've gathered all 10 files &2 b-sides, and remixed them already.
All of the extra riffing, and boring solos have been cut out, leaving a seemless trasition into the next closest good riff.
This may just be the best album yet, after being remixed.
It sounds alot like Justice, or Puppets, but with totally new riffs.
Preview the remixes now!

Hm.. not such a good idea to post the leaks here, right? Cyanide is on Metallica's MySpace and it sounded pretty ok to me.. But not like the Justice/Battery ones.. Overall, I think, if Metallica has learnt their lessons, this one should be way better than the St. Anger, I guess. Kirk's solos are back and that should be awesome

As far as I know it's legal to post links to remixes.
I would be honored if metallica seeked litigation against my fixes. lol
It would only thrust my work into the spotlight, so that more people would be able to hear what metallica is supposed to sound like.
These remixes sound much better now. Hands down.
I'm a hard core fan since 86, that's stuck with them even through St. Anger.
It's like a favorite sports team, that's down and out for a few seasons.
I've bought all the albums, at least once to re-complete my collection.
I will be recieving the new album on the 12th, so I already have rights to the original file.
Cyanide is one of the weaker tracks off the new album, although I was able to salvage it, with the few okay riffs in there. Try mine if you dare. :)
Yeah St. Anger was tuned down below E, so you get that deeper sound that isn't metallica, and then the snare drums which sounded like a trash can being beaten. Uhgg. I liked Frantic though, after remixing, but it's the only track that had real energy.

I got the album yesterday, and like so many others I almost didn't want to listen to it, for fear of a continuation of St Anger which was - at best - a therapy session for the band.
I grew up with Metallica and it saddened me that they had failed to inspire me for a period of 18 years. It felt like Hetfield had become a characature of himself, Lars was running the show with all the charm and wit of a McDonalds employee, Kirk had faded into the background and Rob hadn't settled into his place yet.
Thankfully this album has gone a big way to putting my faith back into Metallica. They're playing hard and fast in most of the songs, but without it being white noise. They've gone back and produced what I think should have come a couple of years after the Black Album, but with the maturity and experience we'd all expected of them.
Listening to the album a couple more times allowed me to give it a good analysis and it impressed me that they've not only made a good thrashy album, but focused on some finer intricacies. The music is far from basic - the songs are really well constructed and interesting. Slightly unpredictable but with great coherence and attention to detail.
If you were scared of a failure, give them this one chance and sure if you're not impressed, move on. But after resigning myself to the fact I'd never go to see them again in concert, I'm happy to change my tune and say I'll be in line for a ticket when they come back to Ireland.
Good job boys, I'm proud of you.

So what to do for one's satisfaction ? Whatever way one speaks up as opinions, people always have ideas for knock back and forth, don't they ?

I guess the people using MACs are having a sound quality issue, and so they've assumed it's the production of the album that is faulty.
Perhaps so, but I highly doubt it, since I've heard it on at least three different PC's. They are hearing a clipping, popping, static sound.
Maybe the source of the files they got were shotty.
I think we might need a new MAC vs. PC commercial!
FYI, the above sentence was censored over at the mac forums. :D

I have recently gotten the new album (purchased with concert tickets woo!). I brought it to work today to put in my computer to play... but it didn't work... it could be possible my computer won't allow it, but it could also be a security measure. If so, thats weak!

I knew there were some of you people out there!
Sunflare670,
Metallica has been putting autoplay stuff on their CD's, like the last st.anger.
Supresss or turn off the autoplay, and you should be able to explore the CD normally.
