Hi, All

I would like to ask you guys a question about Crystal Report.

For instance. I have two crystal reports, R1 and R2. I open R1 and want to make R2 as a subreport of R1. So I go ahead and insert R2 as a subreport of R1. It works fine. My question is when I open R2 by itself and make some modifications, is is automatically update the supreport in R1. I would like to make some modifications with R2 and the subreport in R1 should automatically update the changes. I don't know how to make it works. Please give me some advices.

Thanks.

you can format the subreport and select "Re-Import When Opening" (there is also an option under File->Options->Reporting Tab).
This selection will cause Crystal to access a subreport that was inserted from an existing report, and update the subreport with any changes.

There are two points on the down side to this option; 1) "Update on Open" does not necessarily mean "Update on Run". 2) if you insert a subreport from an existing report that is stored on a network share, or a local machine, later iterations of Crystal must be able to access the original file.
