retrieval of cpu id

hi,i would like to know if i can retrieve cpu id of my system using c++?I would like to see a example of this too if possible in c++.thanx in advance.

This is the networking forum - do you mean the systems MAC address? If not then you may want to post your question in a more appropriate forum. It would probably also help to state which operating system you want this information for.

its not mac address which i want.I want hard disk serial number....
