OK, heres my scenario:
I have Comcast High speed Internet connected to a SMC Networks modem (SMC8013WG) which is also a 4 way router. Connected to the modem is my Linksys 10/100 8- Port Workgroup Switch. Connected to that is as follows:
3-computers (a Gateway running WinXP Pro, a Dell running Win2000, and a Dell server running Win2000)
1-HP6310 All-in-One Printer, Scanner, etc, and
1-Belkin 4-Port Wireless Router
(From here on out, above will be called "FRONT")
Connected to the Belkin is as follows:
2-Computers (Both are Dells running WinXP Pro); and
1-HP7310 All-in-One Printer Scanner etc.
(From here on out, this will be known as "REAR")
Now, here is my problem.
I successfully networked REAR to FRONT, allowing me to access files, programs, and print among the entire network. Upon starting to network FRONT to the REAR printer, I get NO connectivity. I tried to ping the IP addresses from the FRONT to the REAR with no replies from any of them.
Basically, I have a network connection between the REAR and FRONT, but not between the FRONT and REAR, if that makes any sense what-so-ever.
I am trying to locate some information about HOW to get FRONT to access the printer on REAR.
Suggestions are greatly appreciated if any one can decipher what I wrote above. I apologize for any confusion, as I am basically teaching myself networking.
