Hey all,

I'm starting up a web site where I host friendly programming competitions between other programmers and myself on a regular basis. I already have the first problem and competition up and going. If you like solving programming problems in your free time like myself, come join in on the fun.

Here's my site: http://rhiever.110mb.com/

The competition is under the 'Beat My Code' section.

Hope to see ya there! :)

I don't see any code to beat. Sure it isn't "Write my code?" :)

Lol, good one.

I am in the process of designing my solution as well. I don't look at anyone's solution until I finish mine, which should be soon. I figured it'd be a little unfair to give myself as much time as I needed, then limit the time for everyone else...

That means I'm on my word, of course... but honestly, why would I cheat? This is purely an academic endeavor for me. I'm not looking to prove anything. :)

Sounds like a fun idea, but make it an HTML page not a word document!
:)

I suppose I could do that... I just figured it'd be more helpful in Word format so you can save it and refer to the document instead.

I'll add that onto my to-do list. :)

The problem is on the web page now; you don't have to download the document any more. :)

This is my opinion, but what I like better than solving programming problems is to get paid to solve programming problems. ;)

If you can point me to a site where you get paid to solve fun/interesting programming problems no matter if your solutions "wins" or not, then hey, I'm all for it! Otherwise, I think they call that a "job"... :P Hehe.

Well, do you think a MVP award is worthwhile?

Sure - awards/bragging rights is definitely something you can win from the competition. :)
