Nihilistic Software is seeking a highly motivated, experienced tools programmer to work on developing cutting edge development tool sets for a new PS3/XBOX 360 based original next-generation title being developed for a top publisher. We are expanding our tools department under the direction of long-time industry veteran Yves Borckmans, who has created tools stretching all the way back to the original DFuse edtior for Dark Forces.
Primary Responsibilities:
* Design and develop new tools, in close coordination with tool end users in art and design.
* Maintain and improve existing tools.
* Collaborate with programmers to ensure tools produce efficient data for the game system involved.
Qualifications:
* C++ and C# programming and debugging experience required, but not necessary to have direct PS3 and XBOX 360 experience.
* UI design experience.
* Maya C++ API and MEL programming experience.
* Reliably finish tasks on time and to a high level of code quality.
* Willing to work in a fast paced, self-directed, creative environment.
* Excellent communication skills.
* Experience with or good understanding of art/level creation pipeline is a major plus.
* Passion for creating and playing video games.
* B.S. degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
