Overview:
Watchfire Signs is seeking an independent, hands-on Software Engineer who can both see the big picture and drill down into exceptional detail to join our handpicked team at our new relocation in Research Park, in Champaign. Our collaborative team creates the software that operates enormous LED displays, using Windows applications written in C++/C# for graphics manipulation at both the GUI and hardware internal coding levels.
We offer tremendous opportunities for career growth and development as well as the opportunity to work in an entrepreneurial environment where decisions can be made quickly. While this person will work independently on projects, there is also extensive collaboration with the team. Only candidates seeking to make a difference in a growing, collaborative and fast-paced environment should apply.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance Windows applications written in C++/C#/.net for all aspects of graphics manipulation, from end-user interface to communications, from GUI to hardware internal coding.
- Work on all aspects of software development.
Required Education/Qualifications
- Must have 2+ years recent work experience writing in C++.
- Must have 2+ years recent work experience creating windows applications.
- Minimum education is a computer science degree, or EE or CE degree.
- Strongly prefer C# or .net work experience, but would consider a candidate with very strong C++ who only had C#/.net in school.
- Prefer experience working in vista, particularly processing how to make applications vista compliant.
- SQL experience in creating databases, not just manipulating data, is a huge plus.
- Strongly prefer professional MFC experience, and Visual Studio 2005 (VS2005) or later.
- Prefer Windows GUI design experience as well as embedded systems.
- Graphics processing and manipulation experience a plus. Otherwise, no preference for prior industry.
- Experience with any of the following technologies a plus: MFC, C#, .NET, XML, XSLT, HTML, VBScript, JavaScript, ASP, SQL, Windows XP Embedded (ideal!), and Green Hills VelOSity.
