Test Engineer
Software Evaluation, Network Configuration, Defect troubleshooting Scripted and Ad-Hoc
12 MONTH CONTRACT - DAYS 8-5
One of the world's largest IT organizations is seeking Test Engineer for a 12 month contract position.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Test Engineer:
• Installation and configuration of storage targets, high bandwidth adapters (HBA), and storage servers.
• Evaluate and trouble shoot software and network configuration using scripted and ad –hoc methods.
This is an estimated 12 month position through Volt Technical Resources, a member of the Volt family of companies and a publicly traded, nationally recognized leader in providing staffing and information services. Requirements:
Required Skills for this Test Engineer position include the following:
1. At least two (2) years of solid Network Test Engineering experience
2. Proficiency with the following:
o CCNA
o LINUX
o MCSE
Additional Requirements:
• We are specifically looking for a candidate that has experience in storage area networking validation (SAN). This may include FCOE or iSCSI experience as well as over all SAN management
• Proficiency in all Microsoft Operating Systems from Windows 2000 to Longhorn Beta
• Proficiency in Linux Operating systems including RedHat, Suse, SLES and/or latest Kernal.org Linux Kernel
• Network Switch configuration
• Thorough understanding of TCPIP, both IPv4 and IPv6
• Understanding of Network Test tools e.g. NTTTCP, NetPerf, iPerf Chariot, etc
These Skills Would Be A Plus:
• Experience with the following companies or their products: EMC, Brocade, Emulex
• Proficiency in test documentation, including clear concise defect documentation
• Experience with Defect Tracking tools
• Perl, Ruby, TCL, Bash, WMI, VB, and\or Windows batch and command shell scripting
• C Language
• Experience with Network protocol analyzers (packet sniffer), including Network General Sniffer, Finisar, or Wireshark
• Virtualization technologies
• Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI), PCI-E*, PCI-x* skills - Latest Intel Platform knowledge
• MCSE, CCNA, CCNE, A+ certification
