Systems Software Engineer
Location - San Francisco, CA

We are seeking a systems software engineer to help us scale our rapidly growing website. As demand for the Scribd service increases, there are numerous difficult technical challenges to overcome, and we need a smart ops guy to help us solve them. This is a full time, on-site position with a great salary, generous stock options, and benefits.
Responsibilities:
- Capacity planning, selecting and ordering new hardware
- Finding bottlenecks in code and fixing them
- Writing scripts to automate system administration tasks
- Configuring servers and applications
- Application programming
- Ultimately responsible for keeping Scribd online
Qualifications:
- 2+ years systems software engineering experience
- Deep experience with Apache, MySQL, and Linux
- Experience scaling web services
- Bash scripting, other scripting skills a plus
- Strong general programming skills - you'll be coding along with us
