Multiple Columns in Crystal X

I am using Crystal X and want to format across multiple columns. I know about the section expert and multiple columns but cannot get my data to break into a new column when the group changes.

For example I have a list of contracts, grouped by month
January
ab100
fg522
sf896
th578

February
hg111
jk111
tk584

March
df154
jk456

I want to format them like this..

January February March
ab100 hg111 df154
fg522 jk111 jk456
sf896 tk584
th578

I have tried cross-tabs but they do not seem to give me what I am looking for.

Yes I have tried the multiple column format in the section expert but it doesn't allow you to move the data into the next column when the group changes.
