Row Numbering in Crosstab

I am trying to have row numbers in a crosstab. I normally do this when not using a crosstab with a running total, but a running total is not available to add to the crosstab ROW listing.

For example, I am listing all the participants, and want to number them 1 thru 10.

I have tried everything I can think of - any suggestion really appreciate.

anyone expert can help me on this.
My customer kept on complaining about this..and I hope they not bored & stop to buy Crystal Reports because of this simple request..I have tried everything I can think of - please help

hi dglienna,

why the display string function was not working in web application. i use tomcat, and the displayfunction only preview successful in design, not in web deployment.
can you help?
