I am coming from a different background and a different IDE.
I am used to being able to move the cursor with the keyboard anywhere in the text editor pane. In VS2005 it can only be moved to the end of the code at that line and not further. That results in the cursor jumping to the line ends when it is scrolled up or down. Just kind of annoying, not letting you go where you want. Is there a way I can make this better for me.

Is there a setting for the code editor (VS 2005 C++) so that there are no line ends?

Thanks

Yes, it's called "Virtual Space" and you can find it at:
Tools\Options\Text Editor\All Languages" you will see check box Enable virtual space
