Business System Analyst – Burlington, MA

Under general direction, the Business System Analyst is responsible for working
with the business/user community in gathering comprehensive business
requirements and translating these into software solutions throughout the entire
life cycle of software development and implementation. The Business System
Analyst reports to the Business System Architect Manager, and works side-by-side
with the Technical Managers to design and implement specific projects.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Develop functional hierarchy diagrams and process models to document user
functions and workflow.

Document existing and future business processes and requirements using a
variety of tools such as MS Word, MS Excel and MS Visio.

Identify information system enhancements that will improve business processes
and support future business needs.

Study existing software to evaluate effectiveness and documents requirements
for new functionality to improve production or workflow as required.

Prepare UML use cases and other diagrams to specify in detail the business and
functional processes of a new application or enhancement.

Define detailed requirements through product development and other functions
to support the project team.

Write detailed descriptions of the user needs, program functions, and user
interface design.

Participate in the review of detailed technical designs. To ensure that the
business requirements defined in the analysis phase of the software development
life cycle are satisfied by the proposed modifications or enhancements.

Participate in testing to verify the system functions properly and satisfies
the business requirements.

Provide support to the Solution Center and End Users for questions and issues
that arise after the system is in production status.

JOB-RELATED SKILLS/COMPETENCIES:

2 - 4 years experience in business analytics

Bachelor Degree in computer field or equivalent experience

Demonstrate good communication and documentation skills through clearly
written, concise and comprehensive documentation

Experienced business analysis background

Requirements gathering and consensus building

Familiar with commonly used programming concepts, practices, and procedures
within a field such as relational databases, User interface design, and client-server application design.

Able to work individually and as part of a team

Good technical communication skill � both verbal and written.

Professional communication skills.

Use common desktop tools (Word, Excel, Visio, MS Project)

Troubleshooting

EDUCATION/CREDENTIALS:

Applicable Technical Certification and/or training

Experience or familiarity with healthcare, workers compensation, or outcome
assurance
