Our client is an independent distributor of music, movies, and other entertainment products throughout North America. They are looking to fill a full time permanent .NET programmer position within their organization. Company has been steadily growing in their space since inception in late ‘80’s. They have an excellent benefit package with a bonus plan and salary that is commensurate with experience.
Responsibilities:
• Application Design & Development:
o Research, design, and develop applications to input, store, retrieve, and report data using various development tools as recommended by the organization.
o Interview users to identify the scope of the applications, integrating applications into network environment, testing the product before implementation, and writing necessary procedures.
• Application Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
o Monitor application status and perform necessary administrative configurations to reduce or eliminate unnecessary or accidental shutdowns.
o Examine custom applications developed by client to determine overall integration and compatibility with the network and other programs;
o Respond to and resolve issues that arise with applications by researching the request, estimating time to complete, changing necessary code, testing, and implementing.
• Operations Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
o Provide assistance in the maintenance and troubleshooting of client’s various computer hardware systems when necessary.
Requirements:
- Associate’s degree with programming concentration or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of programming/development experience either in school or in the workplace with Visual Foxpro, VB, ASP, SQL Server, VB.Net, ASP.Net, ADO.Net, MS Access, MS Office, HTML, and XML.
- Some network/systems administration experience preferred.
- Able to work in a pre-established application environment and write generic SQL queries.
- Ability to effectively adapt to a dynamic, constantly changing, priority shifting environment.
- Team player with strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Sound analytical and problem solving skills.
