Reports to: Director, Network Operations

Position Summary:

A Sr. Network Administrator is responsible the daily management, security, configuration, monitoring and resolution of problems relating to the TCP/IP infrastructure within the enterprise, both on the corporate network and in our offsite data center. In addition, he/she will be responsible for the support of all network hardware and related configuration. To succeed in the position, a candidate will need to have deep, expert level knowledge in the design, deployment, support, troubleshooting and repair of TCP/IP networks. A successful candidate will also be a disciplined and rigorous with respect to following standard operating procedures and will possess a high level of personal organization skills and attention to detail. In this key role, the Sr. Network Administrator will participate in the 24 x 7 on-call rotation within the Operations department.

Required Skills:

• Ability to independently research, troubleshoot and resolve problems on the enterprise’s TCP/IP networks
• Ability to configure for, capture and analyze various network protocols at the packet level using industry standard tools
• Ability to design, implement and configure SNMP architectures for monitoring of network devices
• Ability to install, configure and maintain MRTG installations
• Ability to document/update standard operating procedures
• Ability to accurately document network topology and network level security elements
• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced Operations environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines
• Ability to consistently meet Service Level Agreements for network availability
• Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• Windows Server Administration skills are a strong plus

Required Experience:

• 5-8 years relevant network administration experience
• Hands-on experience with a multi-site TCP/IP enterprise including a 24x7 production environment within the past year
• Hands-on experience with Netscreen firewalls
• Hands-on experience with fault tolerant network design and maintenance
• Hands-on experience with Extreme switches
• Experience delivering high uptime in a 24x7 production environment under customer facing SLA’s
• Experience interfacing with multiple vendors for service and repair coordination
• Experience with bandwidth provider vendor management
• Participation in an 24 x 7 on-call rotation within the past 3 years
• Experience planning and executing on large IT projects as a technical lead
• Mentoring experience is a plus
• Windows Server Administration experience is a strong plus

Educational Requirements:

•BS degree strongly preferred
•Juniper certification a plus
•CCNA a plus
•MCSE or MCSA a plus
