We are seeking a Sr. Operations Technical Lead to be responsible for the planning, coordination and actual execution of Operations efforts in support of cross-departmental projects.
In this technical role, the Sr. Operations Technical Lead acts as the liaison between all other Departments and Operations throughout the project lifecycle. Make no mistake; this is not a project management job. The successful candidate will have the technical background and hands-on experience to properly research, specify and execute upon infrastructure changes and upgrades necessitated by the upcoming deployment of new products and/or platforms within the enterprise. He/she will be responsible for analyzing marketing and products requirements from an Operations perspective and for formulating Operations response to these requirements for incorporation into the Operations Plan for each project.
Required Skills and Experience:
4-7 years relevant experience in online Operations with exposure to high availability and large scale technologies such as clustering, load balancers, caching, etc.
1-3 years additional experience in the role of an Operations Technical Lead planning and directly executing on large IT efforts in support large projects.
Hands-on experience in a 24x7 production environment within the past 5 years, including participation in an on-call rotation.
Experience delivering high uptime in a 24x7 production environment under customer facing SLAs.
BS Degree in Information Systems or equivalent experience.
MCSE a plus.
CCNA a plus.
Juniper certification a plus.
Sufficient technical knowledge and hands-on experience with a variety of enterprise level technologies including, but not limited to, clustering technologies, load balancers, HTTP caching and acceleration, high availability networking, x86 multi-core multi-processor server class hardware, large scale storage solutions, Windows 2003 server, JAVA environments and large scale SQL Server 200x operations.
Strong Windows Server administration skills.
Strong TCP/IP networking skills.
Ability to independently research, specify, cost and plan appropriate solutions to meet project requirements on time and in budget with an eye for maintainability and availability.
Ability to document/update standard operating procedures.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
