Software Development Manager
The Software Development Team Manager (SDM) will lead a group of Software Developers and Engineers to design and deliver software products. They will work closely with developers, management and product stakeholders to establish product requirements, implement and track development solutions and coordinate timelines. This position will be working closely with Client Services, Operations, and development staff on product requirements. The SDM will have the ultimate responsibility for the design, development, delivery and maintenance of systems assigned to their group. Outstanding leadership skills and a strong technical background are required to motivate and manage a talented team of developers.
Essential Functions (Responsibilities):
General
Lead a team in the design, and delivery of solutions
Take responsibility for on-time delivery of solutions
Clarify specifications of assigned projects as necessary
Provide technical leadership and mentoring among junior team members
Communicate status of projects with management
Promote the use of common solutions across clients
Excellent organization skills
Ability to work harmoniously and effectively as part of a work team
Personnel
· Help coordinate staff resource for assigned projects
· Responsible for performance reviews, training and staff development
Project Management
· Analyze customer requests for feasibility and effort.
· Develop accurate project schedules and maintain progress reporting.
· Responsible for all software development project management: task definition, assignment, estimation, and tracking.
· Perform risk analysis, identify risk areas and develop alternate plans and/or risk mitigation measures.
Desired Experience
· Bachelor’s Degree in a computer related field
· At least 5 years programming experience
· At least 1 year experience leading a team
