Project description

Client is a Fortune 500 company global research and development company involved in cutting edge technologies such as flat panel displays, consumer electronics, and digital IT. They specialize in key enabling technologies that drive the digital video revolution. Their work includes processing techniques for the highest quality broadcast digital video, as well as the low bit rate video to be streamed across wired and wireless IP channels.

They are seeking a strong individual contributor to join their pioneering team in developing new wireless technology and intellectual property for future mobile systems, emphasizing modem and Physical layer systems.
Major responsibilities

- Development of advanced signal processing algorithms for evolved 3G and 4G wireless.
- Analysis and simulation for verification and optimization of designs.
- Preparation of materials to support contributions to standards bodies such as 3GPP.
- Development of high-value intellectual property and patent applications

Other responsibilities

- Interact with Parent company and academic bodies as needed.
- Monitor related developments in standards, academia and industry and report on major implications
- Some domestic and international travel required.
- Must be able to work extended hours.
- Must be able to sit at desk for extended periods of time.
- Must have command of English language adequate to communicate technical information

Must have Technical skills / Experience

- Outstanding R&D credentials
- Strong research background in wireless communications systems, emphasizing signal processing, with strong analytical skills and knowledge of communications theory.
- Experience in developing communications system simulations (Matlab, C/C++)
- Ability to synthesize new patentable concepts
- Motivated and flexible self starter with strong demonstrated communications skills
