Position Summary:

We are looking for a XML Systems Architect/Production Director
for a Seattle, WA based large Healthcare Technology client with over 2000 employees.

This position requires working with clinicians in the development of products containing health care guidelines. It requires a candidate that has the ability to quickly learn new tools, provide an efficient resource for technical needs to both internal and external clients and work efficiently with the rest of the IT staff to complete projects on time. The primary focus of this position would be working with XML documents. Duties include developing style sheets to transform existing XML documents into deliverable content in both print and web-based formats; maintaining and creating DTDs; and mastering XML editing software to assist clinical authors with questions and troubleshooting. This position will be in charge of building a first class team focusing on data conversion, tool customization, and internal support of the tool.

Main Responsibilities:

Provide vision and direction to team for best practices in content management and editing
Convert XML files to numerous media: print, web, cd-rom, database
Convert Access and Excel Tables to XML to be incorporated into products
Provide internal customer service to users of XML editing tools
Minimum Qualifications:
Five year experience in programming knowledge - XML, HTML and at least one of the following: XSLT, XML DOM, C#, VBA, Visual Basic, PERL, JavaScript, ASP, ColdFusion
5+ years of experience working with XML and related technologies (DOM, XSLT, DTD)
Proven analytical skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Database knowledge - Access, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL
Reporting tools - Crystal Reports or Access
Knowledge of Arbortext Epic Editor (or other XML editors) a plus
Knowledge of content management systems required
Publishing experience a plus
Able to thrive in a fast-paced, client-focused environment
Able to work independently, and be self-directed

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
