How to create a ROI function or class

hi im currently working on a school project. my project requirement is to create a Rectangle or circle which the Rect/Circle can be click and drag to move within the dialog plus the Rect/circle can be Stretch on on it 4 edgeage to resize the Rect/circle. my supervisor say i need to create a ROI to store the Rect/Circle location,sizeofRect,middle location of rect. in order the rect to store it current state in that roi. do u all have any ideal of doing. or any simple will be good :) thank in adv
