I want to setup web server at home. I have IIS 5+ server installed and running. I also have Simple DNS and IPUpdate for DNS handling. But, dont know how to configure Simple DNS and IPUpdate to work with web server. I have Broadband connection, always on.
So, what to do now.

Well, if you are going to run your own web server from home, the first thing you need to worry about is security. IIS is a wonderful hacking tool, that is for those who want to hack it. So first you need to close or stealth most ports. A real web server only needs port 80 open if it is only connecting to the internet and not to another network.
Second, you must contact your ISP and request a static world visible IP address. This will cost you more and there should be a setup fee.
Third, you have to buy a domain and set your IP address to send to that domain.
Last, turn on your computer.
