Hi all, first time post, some friends and i are developing a password recovery for tool Internet Explorer. We've programmed our functions well so far, however we dont know where the stored passwords are located. Our hunch is that the folder IE/Word apps are saved in the registry somewhere, but as any programmer knows, its a big registry and we'd love to narrow our search so that we can finish our project. Any suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated. Thanx in advance!

We do not show here where to get passwords from. It is against our AUP to ask or show where to get the passwords.

I think this is a forum to help other people to learn and share knowledge. I cannot understand these "know it all" people, who thinks knowledge is only to keep safe for few people.
Because of my English I can't express better. And I apologize if any word I use is derogatory, it is not my intention.

Albert, It is called a polite answer. Shuja, thanks for remaining patient and sticking to the AUP.

We cannot give the location because CodeGuru policy dictates that it can aid in security holes for people. So, rather than search here, you can use the wonderful Google resource.

My question is, how do you know your functions are programmed well if you don't even know where the passwords are to test them???

I apologize again, especially if I said something agressive or inapropiatte in my bad english, but I think to answer that, is better not to answer. Since I discovered this forum (just two or three weeks ago) I think it's a very good forum with people who like to help the other. No only to say: "I have a lot of knowlegde, but I don't want to share". If someone uses your knowledge to attack, crack, hack or anything else, you have not the responsability.
I hope you (and everybody) understand this.
I won't say anything more about this, because this is not the place, and I have to accept your (codeguru) rules.

Albert.

PD: Sorry Shuja Ali.

Yes, the thread starter says he has completed the program. How did they do it without the basic knowledge of where it is located? That sounds like a hacker trying to get the easy way out.

I am not offended and I do not get offended easily. :)

We need to follow the rules that Codeguru has and that way we can make CG a much better place (which it already is).

PS: You will see members here go out of way to help others and this makes CG the best place to share and learn.
