Manager, Business Solutions

Primary Objective:

This is a leadership role designed to deliver strategic process improvement attention, tactical execution and managerial oversight of the company’s Business Application Solutions. These Subject Matter Expert individuals partner with Process Owners/Stewards and Functional Leads to identify needs, develop demand articulation and justification and direct solution delivery. Solution Managers are positioned by process and support Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Supply Chain Management (SCM), Finance-to-Mange (FTM), Manufacturing Solution (MS), Source and Support (SS), Plan-to-Produce (PP), and HR.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Process Partnering and Solution Needs Identification with Business Unit Process Owners and Stewards and Functional Leads.

Demand definition and requirements articulation facilitation, including capacity and capability needs.

Annual Demand Forecasting and Planning, working with Business and Functional Partners.

Solution capability leveraging and application portfolio marketing (i.e. proactive enablement addressing known needs and opportunities).

Solution Delivery – Work Direction and Implementation Accountability.

Projects Orchestration and Oversight:

Monitoring and Status Communication
Issue resolution and/or escalation
Budget Adherence
Solution delivery assurance
Post implementation value attainment review

PMO Partnership and Process Adherence.

Resource Management support including personnel assessment feedback.

Continuous Improvement – Approach and methodology monitoring, enhancing and maturation.

Assist with organizational development and bench strength cultivation.

Tight Business Solutions Leadership Team Integration – process collaboration and co-creation.

Participate in Strategic and Tactical planning.

REQUIRED SKILLS & ABILITIES:

Excellent knowledge of the IT business model and business operations

Excellent knowledge of SAP R/3 and Delivered Functionality

Excellent problem solving , dispute resolution and interpersonal skills

Ability to prioritize and delegate tasks appropriately

Excellent skills in written/oral communications including group facilitation, presentation, and communicating across entire spectrum of an organization

Ability to be establish and lead cross functional teams

Ability to converse with business management and IT management on issues.

Excellent understanding of IT Service Management framework

Good strategic leadership skills, to drive change and direct others even if they don't report to you

Strong project management skills

Proven staff management skills

Well organized, and thorough

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIRED/DESIRED:

BS/BA degree with 5-7 years experience working in Leadership role within a major corporate business or the equivalent years of demonstrated experience in a leadership role within a major corporate business

Working experience preferably in an IT and/or ERP environment

Multi-task orientation

Internal knowledge of MeadWestvaco’s business is helpful

Prior IT management experience
