My customer, a vibrant, growing clinical software company in Oakbrook, IL is looking for a Sr. Software Engineer (contract-to-hire) with drive and an entrepreneurial spirit. The company is publicly traded and a leader in providing high quality technology solutions that improve the process of care, patient safety, and operational efficiency in the lab.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing support related to all aspects of software analysis, design, development, documentation, and configuration management of our award winning software for the medical profession.
You'll be responsible for developing new functionality, upgrades, debugging and enhancements for our software applications.
The position also includes writing or reviewing specifications, analysis and design of the software.
It requires the ability to work well with customers when providing support, and with our clinical consultants when writing or reviewing specifications.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Participate in the preparation of system requirements and design specifications.
- Apply software engineering skills and tool knowledge to produce a system that meets the stated requirements.
- Provide software engineering and product expertise throughout the lifecycle of assigned projects.
- Adhere to configure management practices.
- Participate in the preparation of project plans, status and statistical reports, etc.
- Assist in the resolution of product issues escalated from Customer Service as required.
- Assist in product implementations under the guidance of the Professional Services department as required.
Job Qualifications:
Required Education and/or Experience
- BS in Computer Science, Masters preferred
- Minimum 5+ years of professional software engineering experience required
- 1+ years Microsoft Dot Net experience required
- 5 years MS Visual Studio experience required
- 3 years of C++ experience required
- 3 years of COM/DCOM technologies experience preferred
- Microsoft Certified Engineer preferred
- Healthcare experience preferred
- Must have excellent communication skills
- Able to work in a team environment
- Able to work in a stressful environment
- Must be a US Citizen or have a Green Card
