Description: We are looking for an experienced Java developer who will support and extend a major application in our trading infrastructure. The successful candidate should have at least 3 years experience developing and supporting a Java-based application in a fast-paced corporate environment. The candidate must be a strong software developer knowledgeable in Java, J2EE, JBoss, JMS, XML, XSLT, JDBC and Ant. The candidate should also be knowledgeable in standard software practices and tools. This position requires that the candidate is energetic and able to deliver production quality messaging software within tight schedules.
This role requires frequent interaction with software developers, testers, product managers and helpdesk professionals in order to ensure that we deliver a quality-trading platform to our users.
Most important the successful candidate must be a good team player who is able to work professionally and effectively in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Skills/Requirements:
· BS, EE, CS or equivalent experience.
· Experience with Windows, Linux and Solaris.
· 4+ years experience in the IT industry working in the area of product and/or application development a must.
· 3+ years developing in Java required.
2+ years developing in FIX required.
· Strong knowledge of Java, JMS, XML, XSLT and J2EE a must.
· Strong knowledge of JBoss application server a plus.
· Strong knowledge of XA a plus.
· Good verbal and written communication skills required.
· Ability to work independently and as a part of team.
· Good working knowledge of software testing and building high quality software and experience with software testing tools, regression testing, performance testing, a plus.
· Experience with trading floors/traders/exchanges/commodities a plus.
Responsibilities:
· Support a Java/XML-based J2EE application in JBoss
· Design and implement new functions
· Evaluate and improve performance using Optimizeit
· Work with business analysts in understanding new requirements
· Follow company software development processes and standards
· Study new technology and remain technically current
