softice page fault at unpaged area

Hiya apologies if bthis is in the wrong place but this is the first time ive used softice ........I have also spent 2 weeks googling and reading softice for xp articles. I was hoping I wouldnt have to come on the forums but Im left with no other option.

I am using softice 4.25, I install softice for bt on windows xp sp2, next I read heaps of articles and put 3 files plus 2 osinfo.dat files in c:\windows\system32\drivers

I read some more and updated my winice.dat in system32\drivers

you will notice that kernel32.dll is commented out this is because there is no kernel32.dll on my xp sp2 system......is this normal? I have tried both with and without this import and got the same result

now when I go to start programs numega and click start softice I get a page fault blue screen and then an assembly window comes up filling the whole screen.......when I click x (which I read exited sice the screen just refreshes itself). How can I get sice working properly?

I have an ati radeon x800 GTO , 1 gb of corsair memmory and an amd64(running 32 bit xp). I also have a flat screen monitor and I have tried setting use monochrome monitor and also had none of these options ticked except standard vga in the softice display setup.

Programs running at startup:

quick time,anti vir and windows live messanger latest version ........not sure if these will cause problems? have de activated and tryed stopping the anti vir processes to no avail.

Hoping someone can help

ow one other thing in symbol loader softice initialisation settings, general tab my video memmory size is 3145 and screen rez is at 1024x768 32bit
