Listing Archives and directories

Hi all!!!....

I guess this is not the first time you hear this question, but for me is the first time when i really i am in a hurry and i just can't find a way the rutines to list archives of a directories, make directorios, and all the matters related to the manage the file system (not only archives....i know FILE but there is no DIRECTORY = ()...
