Format color of chart based on cross-tab

I am creating a chart based on cross-tab. It is infact a subreport in the main report.

I am able to format the data-points by using the format color in the options tab of the chart expert.

But I cannot access the format button when I am using a cross-tab.

I shall be greatful if you can show me how to format the color of data-points in charts based on cross tabs.
