<i> What you will do:</i>
Our client is looking for an enthusiastic, self-starter and skilled ETL DBA/Developer. In this role you will have the opportunity to provide service and solutions around the development, enhancement, and maintenance of business intelligence systems using Microsoft Technologies. This role offers the opportunity for significant client interaction in the form of requirements gathering, definition,and solution delivery. Hopefully, the person who fills this position will grow into a Senior member of the team with some project management responsibilities. The initial project will include the conversion of a legacy system - ETL from CRM to Data Warehouse, revision of DW/cubes, and creation of reports, scorecards, and dashboards.
Other duties include:
*Installation, configuration, and maintenance of SQL Server 2000/2005
*Writing T-SQL code
*Defining and creating database objects (tables, views, triggers, stored procedures, functions, etc).
*Creating DTS and/or SSIS packages
*Creating interfaces between applications
*Performance tuning
*Migrating databases and/or changes between environments
*Troubleshooting applications
*Documenting procedures
Team Work: 50%
Individual Work: 50%
The travel required for this position will be minimal - 10% at most, but will most likely be less.
<i> Where you will be working:</i>
This position will be located at our client's offices within their customer's building.
<i> Who you will interact with:</i>
The Developer/DBA will work within a team of about 15 members in the Business Intelligence Department: 8 or 9 DBAs, 3 or 4 business analysts, and 1 BI Developer. You will report to the Manager of Business Intelligence.

<b>Must Haves to Succeed:</b>
*Experience administering database servers including backups, replication and data transformation services (DTS)
*Experience in optimizing databases; solid understanding of referential integrity and the use of indexes
*Experience implementing and supporting 3rd party applications and web-based applications
*Experience or familiarity with MDX highly preferred, exposure and/or casual familiarity with DMX would be desirable
*Strong T-SQL and Stored Procedure coding abilities, familiarity with a .NET programming language extremely desirable
*Demonstrated experience writing data conversion scripts using TSQL, DTS and/or SSIS
*Strong team working skills, an analytical nature, life-long learning and excellent written and oral communications skills are requirements for this position
*Self-starter with lots of initiative needed; must be able to handle multiple priorities, tasks and requests
*Minimum of five (5) years experience with SQL Server, SQL Server 2005 experience strongly preferred
*Strong foundation and understanding of Dimensional Modeling and OLAP, familiarity with the Kimball Method highly desirable
*Ability to troubleshoot technical problems with beta and new release software, and research possible solutions using the internet and other available resources
*Interpersonal skills/teamwork
<b>Nice to Haves:</b>
*Any experience with data conversion tools (Scribe, Data Flux, Informatica, Information Builders, etc) helpful
*Experience with non-SQL platforms (Open Source, UNIX, AS400) a plus
*Experience with data analysis and data modeling; data warehouse experience a plus
*Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science, Computer Science, or Software Engineering preferred. MCDBA Certification a plus
