<b>Pay Rate:</b> $80K - $100K (with possibility of 6 month bonus)
<b>Position Type:</b> Fulltime
<b>Location:</b> Falls Church, VA
<b>Project Description:</b>
<i> What you will do </i>
Our client is seeking a Senior .NET Technical Lead/Developer to lead, guide and inspire their software development team. As a Technical Lead your role will be to review proposed technical designs, challenge design decisions when necessary and work with the development team to resolve design issues. You will attend technical meetings and meet with users for requirements, designing prototypes to provide proof of concept and you will also have the opportunity to perform hands-on technical development.
The management in the position is very open to new ideas and is seeking an individual who has experience leading, motivating, and driving development teams. This is a great opportunity for someone to come in and make a direct impact in a small and growing company. The organization is flat and you will be working with and reporting directly to the President of the company. If you are interested in working in a small company and really making a technical impact then this is a great opportunity for you.
In terms of platforms and methodology you will be working on developing applications using the .NET framework (1.1 & 2.0), utilizing the MSF or UML methodology. Smaller projects would require some eXtreme Programming and the environment is fast paced and high reward.
For a bulleted list of some of your responsibilities please review:
Role: 50% management and 50% technical:
* Plan, schedule, coordinate, monitor and control all software development and technical projects.
* Lead a small development team through all steps of the systems development lifecycle.
* Interview and make hiring recommendations for technical staff.
* Make recommendations about innovative techniques and products.
* Be a part of the senior management team and be involved in daily operation decisions.
* Participate in requirements analysis sessions/discovery meetings with clients.
* Develop .NET and SQL solutions to support complex business rules.
* Develop XML Web services.
<i> Who you will interact with </i>
For every project you will work with a team of 3 developers of varying skill level and you will be in charge of making technical design decisions, setting guidelines and milestones, motivating the team and ensuring that deliverables are completed on time. A majority of your time will be spent working with the team and you will also have an opportunity to get your hands on some code. There would be a minimum amount of client face time (at most 25%) with at most 10% travel.
<i> How your performance will be measured </i>
Your performance will be measured as follows:
Weight - Measure
40% - Quality. Measured in terms of # of satisfied clients, repeat business from existing clients, # of reported issues/defects, time required to resolve issues/fix defects, quality of new hires.
30% - Productivity. Measured in terms of the technical team as a whole. (It is estimated that only 50%, and possibly less, of the Technical Director's time will be billable, but the technical team under the director should be approximately 90% billable, excluding time spent training.)
30% - Strategy. Measured in terms of ideas implemented that successfully: 1) increase business or raise the profile of company (such as presentations, listserv postings, meetings with clients), 2) save money, 3) improve efficiency (such as repeatable processes for requirements analysis, design, project management)
<b>Skills: </b>
The ideal candidate would have the following skills to join the team and make an immediate contribution:
* BS required, preferably in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or related discipline.
* 5 years experience with Microsoft SQL Server and extensive experience creating stored procedures with complex joins.
* 3 years experienced with use case modeling and requirements analysis techniques.

* Solid understanding of business principles and working knowledge of basic accounting functions.
* Excellent communication skills
* Must be a results driven, outcome-oriented professional.
