About print job ID

Dear All,

Is the print job id, which is assigned to each print job, unique through out the system (i.e. no two printers(on the same system) can have print jobs with same id at a time), or is it unique w.r.t. the printer( i.e. for a given printer all print jobs have unique ids, but two printers(on the same system) can have print jobs with same ids).
i hope I have clearly stated what I want to ask.
