Hi everyone. I have a question about Software Development. I can now handle generic programming pretty well, and i'm wondering where to head next. My ultimate goal is game programming(graphic engines, i suppose), but i was thinking that windows programming and other types of programming would also help me a lot.
Could anyone of you tell me you're oppinion on this.
And if you could also give me some links to some information that you find important that would be great. Thanks a lot guys.

Have you considered C Programming.. or Visual studio.. Many game engines are written in C...

That's what i've been saying. I know generic programming in C++, and a little of Visual. Sorry if I haven't been more accurate. I know C++, and I'm asking where to go next? Thanks.

Lol. This sounds like that joke with "de frumos nu-s urit, oleaca de bataie stiu, gata plec la Bucuresti." :D
If you are interested in Game programming unless your games will be text based ones you'll eventually need to do some graphic processing. So I 'd say you take a look at Open GL and/or ActiveX.
Best of luck to you and welcome on Codeguru. ;)

Thanks PadexArt. I'll say this in both languages; I hope it's not a problem:
- Si eu sunt roman. Salut. Merci inca odata pt primire. Salut.
- I am also romanian. Hi. Thanks for the advice. I started learning DirectX but I wouldn't want to jump to the "nasty" stuff from the beggining. And I thought I should learn something else before starting with DirectX. Thanks again for the welcome. Bye.
Merci mult. Salut.

Windows programming is the first step after a programming language of course before start to write games, undoubtedly it will help you a lot, or to say that better, it's necessary.

I guess you would have already gone through GameDev (http://www.gamedev.net/reference/), if not, then try it. :thumb:
