What do you mean with 3D website ? A rotating cube for example ? You can do it in flash, flash is powerful.

My answer was "yes".
There are already websites that give visitors a 3D tour of a city, a site, a construction complex, a car, etc.

So, why can't websites also be 3D?

In general, I believe that the possibility of making something possible is not only a question of technology, but also a question of creativity.
Additionally, the actual creation of something that is "possible" is a function of (projected) demand.

To make the forum appears 3D you can draw everything 3D, button, scrollbar etc...
The forum can't be "real" 3D, if you want to draw a Direct3D scene within a webpage I think that's hard.

It is done with flash as I recall...can't remember the name of it but that would be a great development for websites that don't have their mainscreen bloated enough yet.

Nah, not in this decade, anyways. Maybe once Vista is running on high-powered machines, they could modify Aero Glass to provide a 3-D view. Right now it can look in the taskbar and display what's in the form.

Just a small simple thought here..

3D Game engines are getting faster and faster, and more powerfull these days... I'm almost sure that using one of these game engines with a minimal of I-net trafic (larger download to get the engine, smaller download to view 3d pages).

Try to think of the way they did the video viewer in "Minority report".. and add a bit too that...

Richard...
