Our client, a leading provider of interactive content worldwide, is seeking an Associate Operations Engineer in Cambridge, Mass
As an Associate Operations Engineer, you will be part of the team responsible for the operations of world-class systems powering some of the most popular and influential sites on the Web. You will help support the growth and stability of systems and applications used across our client's brands and business units, and will gain expertise in a "best-of-breed" mix of open-source and commercial and in-house applications. You will collaborate with other engineering and business groups to solve problems and improve processes, and will work with other Operations Engineers to develop standards and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Participating in rotating pager duty and 24x7 support.
Troubleshooting production problems and escalating to development teams where necessary.
Orchestrating software deployments.
Developing and documenting operational standards.
Process automation and monitoring.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in CS, CE, EE or other engineering disciplines/sciences, or equivalent training and experience
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Experience providing 24x7 on-call support
Working knowledge of Perl, UNIX shell, or other scripting languages
A minimum of two years of experience in UNIX/Linux System Administration and/or Operations
Self-motivated and willing to take initiative
Strong and effective communication skills
