Are you a developer with 1 year or more of .NET experience with a strong background working in C++ and developing COM components? Would an opportunity that would leverage your current strengths and develop your .NET skills sound like something of interest? If the answer to these questions are yes then read on.
Development on the base product has been completed and the product was built using heavy C++ code with COM components in the middle tier. The backend consists of a SQL Server 2000 database and all code has been written from the ground up with scalability and performance in mind. They are currently making enhancements to the product and require a developer with the technical know how and savvy to take their product to the next level. Some recent enhancements to the product include the inclusion of .NET web services to allow remote PDA's to enter and upload data to the main database from remote locations. They have also created some thin client interface to allow users to search the database using a compatible web browser. The development environment is medium paced and deadlines are set according to client demand and the importance of the enhancement.
As a developer you will work with different developers to provide solutions to their customers. You will work with a team of 2-4 developers for every project. Each projects begins with the development of a proof of concept which will then translate into a full enhancement or customization for the customer. When you are developing you will work individually but can expect a lot of team interaction to get the project up and running. As a developer you will work closely with the Product Engineer and report to the CTO. All of your development will be done in-house and final deployment and implementation would be handled by the Product Engineer.

<b>Must Haves to succeed:</b>
* 2+ years of .NET development (VB.NET or C#)
* 1-2 years of experience working as a developer with experience - analyzing requirements, developing solutions, writing stored procedures, etc.
* Experience developing in C++
* Experience working with COM or COM+ or DCOM
* Bachelors degree in Science related field. (e.g. Computer Science, Math, Physics, Engineering, etc)
* Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
* Self starter who enjoys researching and developing software.
<b>What will you DO:</b>
As a developer you will be assigned different development tasks, which include customizations and enhancements to the current product. Throughout the development process you will be encouraged to research and implement new development practices to help the product grow. In addition to your responsibilities around product enhancement you will also be a team member assisting in the customization and configuration to fit the clients infrastructure and tracking needs. You will work with Visual Studio to develop and work with a mix of technologies ranging from C#, VB.NET, VB, C++ and COM components. The best people in this position are independent thinkers who don't require micro-management. They are also capable of seeing the development bigger picture and make suggestions that help improve the product through the use of technology. Independent thought and the research of new technology is encouraged in this environment and training is encouraged.
