It simply means that your harddisk doesn't have an OS (operating system) installed. As a result, your computer couldn't boot up properly. You have to search for the OS CD that is shipped with your PC and reinstall it.

If you can find the CD, you just have to place it into the CD drive and reboot your machine. When booted up, the display on the monitor will guide you through the installation.

Hi friend,
I found the CD with shiped with the mainboard. After pluged the new HDD, I power on and the i inserted that CD to CD-ROM drive but the condition wasn't changed.
So I replace that CD with the driver WINXP SP2 , which had been used to install WINXP. My computer began fortmat the HDD and install the WINXP successful.
Did i execute the correct thing?
Please reply,
Thanks,

That's right. The WINXP SP2 CD contains the OS that you need. After installing the OS, you may like to install other driver like your main board, Video card, etc.

What model PC do you have? Hopefully, you can find the motherboard mfg to get onboard drivers so that you can use onboard soundcard, network adapter, and video monitor. Win XP often can't install drivers for them
You might be able to use the original CD that came with your system to get the drivers, but if not, you'll have to burn them to a CD using another computer.
It's a fairly complicated process, and best done by a pro. We can help if there are any issues, but things rarely work out simply.
