windowed mode for full screen games

Ok, shoot me. I remember using a command a long time ago, for a game which is full screen in windows, but the command I added on the executeable was somthing like -/w or somthing weird (can't remember) which made it windowed, and I could move it around the screen and resize it, ect...

Anyone know what I am talking about, and what that command is??
