IIS not working

Hello All,

Am trying to install IIS 5.1 on Windows XP.
1. From Add/Remove programs I installed IIS.
2. In Control Panel, Administrative Tools, the IIS is present
3. In Control Panel, Administrative Tools, the IIS Admin service is also running.
4. From IIS, am able to click the web applications mapped from c:\inetpub\wwwroot.
5. But, am not able to open http://localhost/localstart.asp or any other .asp pages.
6. When I checked the event log it says,
the server failed to load application '/LM/W3SVC/1/ROOT/IISHELP
The error was 'Class not registered'

I have tried uninstalling, reinstalling IIS.
I tried these commands in
c:\windows\microsoft.net\framework\v1.1.4322\regsvr32 aspnet_isapi.dll
and aspnet_regiis.exe -i

Please help. I have been trying this for about 3 days but nothing is working.
