ODBC connect to log data

Hi,

I have a question about odbc:

I should find an application (like a daemon) for these purposes:
1) connect via ODBC to database (mysql or sql server)
2) query into db for extract log data
3) write these information into a log file

Somebody know about this? where can I find things of the kind?
