The Game: Cityscape
The prototype has been under development for more than nine months. Please see it in two demo videos. (http://www.cityscapegame.com/www/archive.htm)
Key Features (planned + implemented):
- 3D game engine
- online trading and nation building
- realistic multi-lane traffic system
- "closed" economic system -- one guy's spending is another guy's income
- distributed world persistence (no need to keep the entire world state on the server)
- multithreaded engine optimized for Dual-Core
Paid: Not at this time, however an initial limited stipend can be negotiated for committed developers. This game will go into full commercial release so final salary payments would be made upon release.
Location: Global, At the moment the team is spread out across the USA, Pakistan, Finland and Australia
Type of work: Well see the paid section really. At present we are a group of committed (and like minded) individuals who are keen to see this project through to completion. Hopefully you'd be able to commit some time to Cityscape each week and ultimately be compensated for your efforts.
Requirements: Experience in C++, DirectX 9 and Shader programming a distinct advantage. However people familiar with programming economy simulation engines or developing for multiplayer are also required. See the forums+website (http://www.ctiyscapegame.com) for full details.
You should have your own development tools. Visual Studio C++ etc..
Time Frame: We are recruiting for additional developers right now.
Expected first beta release of Cityscape is due mid 2006
Please visit the website (http://www.cityscapegame.com) for further details or visit our forums (http://forums.cityscapegame.com) for a list of the current development roles.
