Responsibilities
This position is in the Digital Home Systems and Platform Architecture (CCG-SPA). CCG-SPA is in the Digital Home Consumer Client Group (CCG) and is chartered with mapping digital home usage scenarios to platform/product features/capabilities and eco-system initiatives, and driving them into product (such as silicon, boards and system designs).

In this position, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and analyzing digital home prototypes and workloads for the 2007-2010 digital home. You will be working with digital home hardware, software, and system architects, principle engineers, and strategic planning to identify workloads to prototype and analyze. Analysis consists of identifying functional, performance, and usability requirements, current platform, system, and eco-system gaps, and current performance bottlenecks that must be addressed to satisfy the usage scenarios with consumer products in the target time frame. Analysis results will be driven through digital home platform planning processes (POPs, RDMs and others) and eco-system enabling team activities.
Qualifications
You should possess a Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent with three years of industry experience, or a Bachelor's degree with three to five years of industry experience. Additional qualifications include:
- Must have demonstrated success in designing system-level solutions
- Strong software development life-cycle process and debugging techniques are required
- Technical experience with PC system architecture, operating system principles, Windows* audio / graphics / network driver development, streaming media, software debuggers, and automation tools is required
- Experience with Linux* driver development, performance analysis, real-time systems, virtualization techniques, and managed run-time environments is desirable
- Programming proficiency in C and C++ is required, and proficiency in C# and assembly language is desirable
- Strong oral and written communication skills and organizational skills are required
- Must prove to be an excellent team player, demonstrate good interpersonal skills, be able to operate independently, and multiplex your time between many diverse tasks
